David Beckham, former midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his support for his former club ahead of their Champions League quarter-final match against Chelsea. Beckham believes that PSG has a real chance of success in the tournament this year, highlighting the quality of players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.
“I think they (PSG) have a real chance in the Champions League this year. They will face a Chelsea team, with Jose Mourinho as manager. He takes the team to a different level, but I don’t think they will get a result,” Beckham stated in an interview with beIN Sport.
Beckham praised PSG’s recruitment of top-level players, emphasizing the club’s ambition to assemble the best talent. He particularly lauded Thiago Silva as the best defender in the world and described Zlatan Ibrahimovic as one of the best players he has played with.
With PSG set to face Chelsea, Beckham’s words suggest confidence in the Parisian club’s ability to overcome Mourinho’s team. The outcome of the match will be revealed on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.
