Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, has caused concern after publishing an unexplained message addressed to the club’s supporters and officials.
Nasraoui, 39, wrote on Instagram: “Hello, good morning to all members of the Barcelona family. I need help as a person and as a human being.”
The message was accompanied by a black-and-white photograph of Nasraoui with Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
Nasraoui did not provide any explanation for the appeal, and neither he nor anyone close to Lamine Yamal has clarified what prompted the post.
Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the message had caused concern in Barcelona and linked it to an alleged incident involving Nasraoui at Barcelona-El Prat Airport after he returned from the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Reports claimed Nasraoui had spat in the face of a waitress after directing harsh words at her, before becoming involved in an altercation with another person at a cafe before attending the ceremony.
The allegations have not been explained further in the source report, while the meaning of Nasraoui’s message remains unclear.
Hours later, Nasraoui posted a message of condolence on Instagram following a train accident.
“Full support and solidarity to all the families of the victims of the train accident,” he wrote.
He subsequently shared a photograph with rapper La Fouine, adding: “Brother, my house is your house.”
There has been no public explanation connecting those later posts with the original appeal to the Barcelona family.
