Koln monitor Dortmunds GermanLibyan left-back Almugera Kabar in 3m summer move

German-Libyan left-back Almugera Kabar of Borussia Dortmund is being linked with a switch to Bundesliga rivals 1.FC Koln, with the 20-year-old defender reportedly a 45% possibility to move according to the latest transfer listings in Germany.

Kabar, born in Bremen on 6 June 2006 and standing at 1.86m, is viewed as a developing first-team option at Dortmund but does not have a publicly listed contract expiry date, raising the prospect that he could move on relatively cheaply if talks over a long-term deal do not progress. There is currently no indication he is close to becoming a free agent.

Kolns interest comes with Kabars market value assessed at 3.00m, a sharp rise from the 1.00m valuation he carried through late 2024 and early 2025. That upward curve reflects his elevation from youth-team prospect to senior-squad contender at Dortmund, where he wears shirt number 42 and operates primarily as a left-back on his favoured left foot.

The defender, who is eligible for both Germany and Libya and is listed with dual nationality, has come through Dortmunds academy system after joining from Hammer SpVgs youth ranks in 2019. Prior to that, he was on the books of SV Husten 09. Internally, he is registered with Borussia Dortmund sides at youth and senior level rather than a national team.

Kabars most recent step up the ladder came in August 2024, when he was promoted from Borussia Dortmund U19 to the first team following a season spent between the U17 and U19 squads. His development has been monitored closely within the Bundesliga, with Koln now emerging as a credible destination should Dortmund be open to negotiations.

With his valuation stabilising at 3.00m through to May 2026 and a pathway to regular starts potentially clearer in Cologne than in Dortmunds senior side, any move this summer would be a significant test of Kabars readiness to establish himself as a Bundesliga regular and could prove decisive in how his early professional reputation is shaped.
