Kings Kangwa: Levski Sofia eye move for Zambia midfielder from Hapoel Beer Sheva

Zambia central midfielder Kings Kangwa of Hapoel Beer Sheva is being linked with a summer move to Bulgarian side Levski Sofia.

The 27-year-old, who plays primarily as a central midfielder and stands at 1.70m, is the subject of interest from the efbet Liga club according to transfer listings dated 4 July 2026. The rumour currently carries no clear probability rating, with the move marked as ? and no agreement reported between the clubs.

Kangwas contractual situation in Israel is unclear, with no expiry date publicly listed for his Hapoel Beer Sheva deal, leaving open the possibility he could run down his terms and become a free agent if no extension is agreed. His current market value is put at 3.80m, the highest of his career to date after a steady rise over recent seasons.

Born in Kasama on 6 April 1999, Kangwa has followed a wide-ranging career path. After emerging from Zambias Happy Heart Football Academy and a spell at Buildcon FC, he moved to Russia with Arsenal Tula in 2019, then joined Red Star Belgrade in 2022. A loan to Belgian side KV Kortrijk followed in early 2024 before he switched to Hapoel Beer Sheva in July 2024.

His value has climbed from 250,000 as a 20-year-old at Arsenal Tula to its current 3.80m assessment in June 2026, reflecting his development through the Russian Premier League, Serbian SuperLiga, Belgian top flight and now Israels Ligat ha’Al. A right-footed midfielder, he wears the number 17 shirt at Hapoel Beer Sheva.

No recent competitive match details have been disclosed in the latest reports, but his form for Beer Sheva has underpinned Levskis interest. Should a move to Sofia materialise, it would add another major league to his CV and present a fresh stage on which to enhance his reputation in European football.
