South African giants Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the appointment of former French goalkeeper Olivier Sorin as the club’s new goalkeeper coach as preparations intensify ahead of the upcoming season.

Sorin has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend his stay by a further year, becoming the latest addition to the Amakhosi technical team as the club continues its efforts to reinforce its backroom staff.

The appointment forms part of Kaizer Chiefs’ broader strategy to strengthen the club’s technical structure and improve performances following recent seasons of transition.

The 43-year-old arrives at Naturena with extensive European experience and a wealth of knowledge in goalkeeper development. Since bringing an end to his playing career, Sorin has been involved in various coaching setups in France, where he has built a reputation for nurturing and developing goalkeepers.

During his playing days, Sorin enjoyed a professional career in France, representing clubs including Stade Rennais, Toulouse and AJ Auxerre. His experience at the highest levels of French football is expected to provide valuable expertise to Chiefs’ goalkeeping department.

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping that Sorin’s arrival can help elevate the performances of the club’s goalkeepers as they seek to mount a stronger challenge in domestic competitions next season.

Sorin now joins the Amakhosi setup ahead of what promises to be an important campaign for the Soweto-based outfit, with supporters eager to see the impact of the Frenchman’s expertise on the team’s goalkeeping unit.
