It was an honour to play Mohamed Salah – Jeremy Frimpong

Liverpool defender Jeremy Frimpong has paid glowing tribute to Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, describing the pair as two of the most influential figures he has shared a dressing room with, amid growing expectations that both could be approaching the end of their Anfield careers.

The Egyptian forward and the Scotland international have been central to Liverpool’s modern success since arriving in the summer of 2017, helping the club secure major domestic and European honours while forming two of the most consistent pillars of the team.

Frimpong, speaking in comments reported by Rousing The Kop, expressed admiration for their impact both on and off the pitch, while acknowledging the emotional weight of their potential departures.

“I am very happy to have been part of this group, and obviously the departure of Salah and Robertson will be impactful, as they both gave so much to the club,” he said.

He reserved special praise for the pair’s leadership and character, adding: “Robertson is a true legend at Liverpool, as is Mohamed Salah. It was a great honour for me to play alongside them, as they have a wonderful personality both on and off the field.”

Reflecting further on Salah’s influence, Frimpong described the experience as a career highlight.

“Playing alongside Mohamed Salah, one of the best football players in the world, was a special experience for me, and I am very grateful for this opportunity.”

He also touched on the pressures that come with representing Liverpool, noting the high standards set by supporters while emphasising their unwavering loyalty.

“In Liverpool, everyone always talks about the value of the club and the greatness of its fans. It is true that they always demand more from you, but in the end they love the team and will never abandon you,” he concluded.
