Ifenna Dorgu: Denmark-Nigeria Forward Leaves Botev Plovdiv to Become Free Agent

Denmark-Nigeria centre-forward Ifenna Dorgu has left Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv and is now a free agent after his contract with the efbet Liga club came to an end on 16 July 2026.

The 19-year-old, who plays through the middle and prefers his right foot, departs Botev less than a year after arriving in Bulgaria. He had joined the Plovdiv club in May 2026 and made his debut in the Bulgarian top flight during his brief spell there.

Dorgu’s move back onto the market follows a rapid early career that has already taken him through senior football in Denmark, youth and reserve competition in Italy and now a first taste of top-flight action abroad. His current status leaves him free to negotiate with clubs without a transfer fee.

Before signing for Botev Plovdiv, Dorgu had been on the books of HB Køge in Denmark, stepping up from their youth and under-19 ranks to the first team. He also spent time on loan at Genoa’s under-20 side, where he gained experience in Primavera 1 and the Coppa Primavera.

Across league and cup competitions, Dorgu has built a record that includes appearances in the Danish 1. Division, the Bulgarian efbet Liga and Italian youth football, scoring regularly at under-19 level and adding goals and assists in senior and development matches.

Born on 23 August 2006, Dorgu now enters the 2026-27 season unattached after completing his departure from Botev Plovdiv to become without club.
