Ibra Sekajja has completed a move to Raynes Park Vale, ending his spell without a club and returning to English football with the non-league side. The 33-year-old centre-forward joins on a free transfer from free agency, with his contract at Raynes Park Vale running from 2025-12-02 to 2026-06-30.
The Ugandan-English striker had been unattached since leaving Welling United, but now links up with Raynes Park Vale as they look to bolster their attacking options. The transfer carries no fee and comes with no listed current market value for the player, underlining the low-cost nature of the deal for the English club.
Sekajja’s arrival adds experienced depth to Raynes Park Vale’s forward line. Primarily a centre-forward and right-footed, he has spent the bulk of his career in British football, featuring for clubs across England and Scotland as well as enjoying a spell in Finland. His most recent registered club was Welling United, whom he joined in November 2023 before later becoming a free agent.
Born in Kampala, Sekajja holds dual nationality with Uganda and England, and has long been viewed as a player capable of operating across different tiers and styles of the game. His early career was shaped at Crystal Palace, progressing from the club’s Under-18s to the Under-21s. During that phase he experienced several loan moves, including temporary stints at Milton Keynes Dons, Barnet and Kettering Town, which provided his first exposure to senior football.
A move to Scotland followed when he joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle, later switching to Livingston. After leaving the Scottish game, he embarked on a nomadic spell around the English non-league system, signing for Braintree Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Dulwich Hamlet, Bognor Regis Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Gosport Borough and Maidenhead United. His career then took him abroad with AC Oulu in Finland, before a return to England and further spells with Dulwich Hamlet and Welling United.
Market value data from earlier in his career shows that Sekajja’s worth fluctuated significantly, peaking at €75,000 during his time with Crystal Palace’s Under-21 side and later standing at €50,000 during his spell at AC Oulu. By 2023, when he was without a club, that value had fallen to zero, reflecting his status as a free agent rather than a contracted asset.
The move to Raynes Park Vale confirms that Sekajja will continue his career in England rather than in Uganda, despite his ties to Kampala and his Ugandan heritage. With a contract now in place from 2025-12-02 to 2026-06-30, the forward has a defined platform on which to relaunch his playing career and attempt to re-establish himself as a consistent goal threat in the English game.
