Hossam Abdel-Maguid leaves Zamalek for Ludogorets with message to fans

Hossam Abdel-Maguid has left Zamalek to join Bulgarian club Ludogorets, saying he will always be proud to have been part of the Egyptian side and asking supporters to continue backing him as he begins the next stage of his career.

The defender confirmed his departure in an emotional message posted on his official Instagram account, thanking Zamalek’s fans for their support throughout his time at the club.

“Thank you to all the Zamalek fans,” Abdel-Maguid wrote.

“From the first day I wore the Zamalek shirt, you were the real support in every moment and through every difficult time.”

Abdel-Maguid’s move to Ludogorets will run until the summer of 2029.

The 25-year-old said he was now looking forward to a new opportunity but would remain grateful for the relationship he had built with Zamalek supporters.

“Today, as I begin a new step in my career, all I ask from you is your support and prayers, just as you have always been there for me,” he added.

“I will always be proud that I was one of the sons of Zamalek Club, and your memories and support will stay with me wherever I go.”

He ended his message by writing: “Thank you for all the love, and may God grant us all success in what lies ahead.”

Abdel-Maguid’s Zamalek record

Abdel-Maguid made 171 appearances for Zamalek during his spell with the club, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist.

He was part of the side that won three Egyptian Premier League titles, as well as two Egypt Cup trophies.

His honours with Zamalek also included the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup.

The defender’s departure brings an end to a period in which he established himself as a member of the Zamalek squad and contributed to the club’s domestic and continental successes.

His final message focused on his appreciation for the supporters, who he described as a constant source of strength from the time he first wore the club’s shirt.

Abdel-Maguid will now continue his career in Bulgaria with Ludogorets, while Zamalek fans will remember a player who made 171 appearances and helped the club secure seven major honours during his time in the team.
