Genk ready to break transfer record with €10m move for Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi
Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk have reportedly identified Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi as a top target ahead of the new season, with the club prepared to make a record-breaking investment to secure his services.
According to reports, Genk are ready to submit an offer worth around €10 million for the 23-year-old striker as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
If the proposed deal is completed, Durosinmi would become the most expensive signing in Genk’s history, underlining the club’s belief in the Nigerian forward’s ability and long-term potential.
Durosinmi only joined Italian side Pisa in January from Czech club Viktoria Plzeň, but his future has already become uncertain following Pisa’s relegation from Serie A at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
The striker’s situation has attracted attention from clubs looking to take advantage of Pisa’s change in circumstances, with Genk now emerging as one of the most serious contenders for his signature.
Before moving to Italy, Durosinmi built a strong reputation in the Czech Republic, where he impressed during his time with Viktoria Plzeň. His combination of physical strength, pace, finishing ability and intelligent movement made him one of the promising forwards in European football.
Despite spending only a short period at Pisa, his profile continues to grow, with clubs impressed by his potential to develop into a top-level striker.
For Genk, the move represents a significant statement of intent. The Belgian side has a strong reputation for developing young talent and providing players with a pathway to bigger European opportunities. The club believes Durosinmi fits their recruitment model and could become a key figure in their attack.
A successful transfer would also mark a major milestone in Durosinmi’s career, as the Nigerian continues his journey across Europe after making a name for himself in the Czech league.
However, negotiations are expected to depend on whether Pisa are willing to part ways with the forward so soon after signing him. With his contract situation and the club’s desire to rebuild following relegation, Genk could see an opportunity to secure one of Nigeria’s emerging attacking talents.
Should the move materialise, Durosinmi would arrive in Belgium with significant expectations, tasked with leading Genk’s attack and justifying the club’s record investment as they aim for domestic success and a strong European campaign.
