Frosinone sign Omar Fayed on four-year deal after Fenerbahce spell

Frosinone have signed Egyptian defender Omar Fayed on a four-year contract after reaching an agreement with Turkish club Fenerbahce during the summer transfer window.

The Italian club confirmed the move on its official website after Fayed completed the formalities required ahead of his transfer. The 23-year-old arrived in Italy last Friday to undergo a medical before finalising his move to Frosinone.

Fayed becomes the latest step in a career that has taken him across several European leagues since leaving Egypt. He joined Fenerbahce from El Mokawloon in the summer of 2023, but did not make a first-team appearance for the Turkish giants.

Instead, Fenerbahce sent him out on loan for three successive seasons. He spent the 2023-24 campaign with Serbian club Novi Pazar, before moving to Belgian side Beerschot for the 2024-25 season. In 2025-26, he played in Portugal with Arouca.

Across those three seasons, Fayed made 38 league appearances in Serbia, Belgium and Portugal. His move to Frosinone represents a return to a permanent club setting after a period in which his playing experience was gained through loan spells away from Fenerbahce.

Before moving to Turkey, Fayed made 28 appearances for El Mokawloon. He joined the Egyptian club before beginning his move into European football with Fenerbahce in 2023.

Frosinone have returned to Serie A after spending two seasons away from Italy’s top division. Fayed will therefore join the club as it prepares for life back in the Italian top flight, with his long-term contract signalling the club’s commitment to the defender.

The agreement with Fenerbahce brings to an end Fayed’s association with the Turkish club, for whom he never played a competitive minute. His time under contract there was instead spent developing through loan moves in three different countries.

Fayed’s previous league appearances came in the Serbian, Belgian and Portuguese competitions, while his earlier involvement in Egypt came with El Mokawloon. The centre-back now has the opportunity to continue his career in Serie A with Frosinone, following the completion of his medical examination in Italy.

The transfer is Frosinone’s latest move in preparation for their return to the Italian top flight. For Fayed, it provides a new club after three consecutive seasons spent away from Fenerbahce, and gives him a four-year platform at the club following his experience in leagues across Europe.
