Meknes appoint new coach

Meknes Club have officially announced the appointment of Mohamed Aziz as the new head coach of the first team following the dismissal of Aziz Dnibi.

The decision comes after Meknes suffered a 3-1 defeat against Kawkab Marrakech in the 21st round of the Botola Pro Inwi championship.

In an official statement released on the club’s Facebook page, the management confirmed that an agreement had been reached to end Dnibi’s tenure while also thanking him for his contributions during his time with the club.

Dnibi Credited for Club’s Return to Top Flight

Despite his departure, Aziz Dnibi leaves behind an important legacy at the club after playing a key role in guiding “Koudim” back to the Moroccan top division following years away from the elite level.

He also helped the club secure survival in the professional league early last season, establishing Meknes as a competitive side after promotion.

However, a recent decline in results during the second half of the current campaign ultimately pushed the management toward making a technical change.

Mohamed Aziz Takes Charge Until End of Season

The Meknes leadership has now entrusted Mohamed Aziz with leading the team for the remainder of the season in hopes of restoring stability and improving performances.

Aziz had previously served as assistant coach before being promoted to the top role.

He officially began his duties after supervising the team’s latest training sessions alongside a technical staff that includes Omar Al Namsawi and Anwar Abdel Maliki as assistant coaches.

Al Tayyibi Al Krouni will continue as physical trainer, while Mohamed Al Bouabdellaoui remains the club’s goalkeeping coach.

Former Renaissance Berkane Player Begins New Chapter

Mohamed Aziz may be entering his first experience as a head coach in the professional league, but he is already a familiar figure within Moroccan football.

The former defender previously captained Renaissance Berkane during his playing career before transitioning into coaching, where he worked as an assistant with several national clubs.

Meknes will now hope his leadership can inspire a turnaround during the final rounds of the season.

Meknes Looking to Recover Strong Early Season Form

The club enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign and emerged as one of the biggest surprises in the championship during the opening months.

However, inconsistent performances in recent weeks have slowed their momentum and increased pressure on the team.

The management will now be counting on the coaching change to provide fresh energy as Meknes aim to finish the season on a positive note.
