Feyenoord turn down record offer as Al Ittihad rethink Anis Hadj-Moussa move

Al Ittihad have abandoned their pursuit of Anis Hadj-Moussa for now after Feyenoord rejected a €37.5m offer for the Algeria winger, according to De Telegraaf.

The proposed deal would have given Feyenoord a new club record for a player sale. However, the Rotterdam club have decided to retain Hadj-Moussa at De Kuip, at least for the time being, despite the sizeable bid from the Saudi Pro League side.

Al Ittihad are now considering alternatives as they look to strengthen their attack. Their focus has reportedly shifted to Esmir Bajraktarevic, the PSV Eindhoven winger.

The Saudi club have already made their interest known to the Dutch champions. PSV could be open to allowing the 24-year-old international to leave, given the competition for a place on the right wing following the arrival of Sami Ouaissa.

Feyenoord’s decision could prove costly if Al Ittihad ultimately end their interest in Hadj-Moussa. The Saudi club had also made an earlier offer during the transfer window, believed to be close to €30m, as reported exclusively by Africafoot.

That proposal was rejected by technical director Devy Rigaux, who did not want Feyenoord to lose several attacking players within a short period. The club were also keen to maintain a squad strong enough to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Al Ahli have likewise attempted to sign Hadj-Moussa this summer, according to exclusive information reported by Africafoot.

Hadj-Moussa remains under contract at Feyenoord until June 2030. His market value is estimated at €23m by Transfermarkt, meaning the rejected €37.5m offer would have represented a significant premium on that assessment.

The winger continues to attract strong interest in the transfer market, although he is currently expected to remain in Rotterdam. Al Ittihad may now concentrate their efforts on Bajraktarevic before the Saudi transfer window closes.

Hadj-Moussa earns an annual salary of €490,000, equivalent to 318.5m CFA francs.

Feyenoord are due to play their fifth league match of the season against NEC Nijmegen shortly. Ahead of that fixture, bookmaker 1xBet lists Feyenoord at 2.20 to win, with a draw priced at 3.90 and a NEC Nijmegen victory at 2.90.

The latest developments leave Hadj-Moussa’s immediate future unresolved, but Feyenoord’s position is clear: the club currently prefer to keep the Algeria international rather than accept Al Ittihad’s substantial proposal.
