Fenerbahce consider move for Strasbourg’s Moroccan-French midfielder Samir El Mourabet

Moroccan-French midfielder Samir El Mourabet is being linked with a move from R. Strasbourg to Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 20-year-old central midfielder has made one Ligue 1 appearance for Strasbourg this season, playing 33 minutes before receiving a red card. He has also featured five times at the 2026 World Cup, although he has not started a match and has yet to register a goal or assist in the competition.

El Mourabet joined Strasbourg’s senior team from the club’s reserve side in July 2025, having developed through the Strasbourg academy after previously playing for Strasbourg Under-19s and local side ASP Vauban. He signed a contract running until 30 June 2030.

His current market value is listed at €22m, a figure that provides an indication of Strasbourg’s position as Fenerbahce assess a possible deal. No transfer fee has been established and the rumour does not amount to a confirmed offer or agreement.

Born in Strasbourg, El Mourabet is 1.87m tall and plays predominantly in central midfield. The reported interest comes after a difficult start to the new Ligue 1 campaign, in which his only league appearance ended with a dismissal. He remains a Strasbourg player while any potential move to Fenerbahce is considered.
