Ex-Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic unveiled as new ES Sétif head coach
Algerian giants ES Sétif have officially named Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic as their new head coach, bringing the experienced Serbian tactician back into North African football.
The former Orlando Pirates and Zamalek boss had been unattached since his departure from Al Merrikh in April, a brief stint that ended after just three months amid financial disputes.
His move to Sétif places him among a familiar group of ex-PSL coaches currently plying their trade in northern Algeria, alongside Sead Ramovic, Josef Zinnbauer and Rulani Mokwena.
In a statement, the club said Sredojevic’s appointment came on the recommendation of sporting director Ezaldin Arab, emphasising the need for renewed direction as the season enters a crucial phase.
“The management of Wafaq Setif Club announces the appointment of Serbian coach Milutin Sredojevic as the head of the first team’s technical model, at the suggestion of athletic director Ezaldin Arab, as part of the management’s quest to restore the technical balance and give the necessary addition to the group during the coming period of the season,” the club stated.
They added a rallying call to supporters, urging them to stand firmly behind the team as they look to chase results worthy of the club’s stature.
“The management of Wafaq Setif affirms its support for the choices of athletic director Mr. Azaldin Arab, and renews its call for supporters to support and stand behind the team strongly, in order to restore balance and achieve positive results befitting the reputation of the club and the ambitions of its fans.”
