Ethan Nwaneri remains upbeat despite a dip in game-time last season, showing maturity beyond his years as he reflects on his journey with Arsenal.
The teenage talent, once tipped as one of the club’s brightest prospects, still managed 39 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with nine goals and two assists.
But a muscle injury in January halted his momentum just as he was breaking into the Premier League starting lineup. The setback led to a drop in minutes during the latter part of the campaign, sparking talk among fans about his long-term role at the club.
Nwaneri, however, isn’t letting it shake his confidence or focus.
“Going from playing quite a lot to not playing as much is normal in football,” he said.
“So I don’t really take it to heart. I understand Mikel’s got a decision to make at the end of the day, and it’s hard for him to make.
“He obviously wants to include everyone but he can’t… I’ve dealt with it well. I’m in a good place mentally and physically,”
