ES Ben Aknoun bring Algeria winger Diaa Eddine Mechid back to Ligue 1
Algeria winger Diaa Eddine Mechid has joined ES Ben Aknoun from Russian club Dinamo Makhachkala on loan.
The 20-year-old right winger completed the move on 2 September 2026, returning to Algeria after seven months in Russia. His loan is scheduled to run until 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Dinamo Makhachkala.
Mechid moved to the Russian Premier Liga side from USM Alger on 2 February 2026 for €210,000. He had joined USM Alger’s senior team from their under-21 side in July 2025.
The Jijel-born player is a left-footed attacker who operates on the right wing. He stands at 1.72m and joins an ES Ben Aknoun side competing in Algeria’s Ligue 1.
Mechid’s period at Dinamo Makhachkala has so far produced no appearances in the 2026-27 Russian Premier Liga or Russian Cup. His move to ES Ben Aknoun gives him a return to Algerian football and a new opportunity to feature regularly at senior level.
Before leaving USM Alger, Mechid was part of a club that won the CAF Confederation Cup and the Algerian Cup during the 2025-26 season. USM Alger also won the Algerian Cup in 2024-25, the campaign before Mechid’s move into the senior squad.
The winger’s current market value is €150,000, while his highest recorded value was €200,000. No purchase fee is attached to the move, which is registered as a loan transfer rather than a permanent deal.
ES Ben Aknoun have therefore added an Algerian wide player with experience of both domestic football and the Russian top flight to their squad for the 2026-27 campaign. Mechid will remain contracted to Dinamo Makhachkala beyond the temporary move, with the loan ending on 30 June 2027.
Mechid has completed his loan switch from Dinamo Makhachkala to ES Ben Aknoun.
