Youssef En-Nesyri faces uncertain future after World Cup snub
Saudi giants Al-Ittihad have reportedly decided to place Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri on the transfer list during the current summer window.
According to reports in the Saudi media, the striker is no longer part of the club’s plans ahead of the new season as the management looks to reshape the squad for upcoming domestic and continental competitions.
Saudi newspaper Okaz reported that Al-Ittihad are preparing to sign a new striker capable of providing a stronger technical impact for the team.
En-Nesyri Joined Club Earlier This Year
En-Nesyri only arrived at Al-Ittihad during the winter transfer window in January after completing a move from Fenerbahce on a contract running until 2028.
The Moroccan international was brought in following the departure of French star Karim Benzema, who reportedly moved to Al-Hilal during the same transfer period.
World Cup Omission Adds to Difficult Period
The latest development comes shortly after En-Nesyri was left out of Morocco’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a decision that surprised many supporters of the Atlas Lions.
Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi explained that the striker’s omission was based on technical and tactical considerations rather than injury concerns.
Ouahbi also noted that he did not want to include an excessive number of forwards in the squad, while stressing that En-Nesyri remains under observation and could return in the future if needed.
