Doku and Khusanov agree long-term Manchester City extensions to 2031

Jeremy Doku and Abdukodir Khusanov have both agreed new contracts with Manchester City running until the summer of 2031, according to The Athletic.

The double renewal for the winger and central defender comes shortly after Phil Foden committed his future to City with a new deal to 2030, which includes an option for a further season.

Uzbekistan international Khusanov, 22, has become a key part of City’s back line this season amid injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol, The Athletic reported.

The centre-back joined City from Lens in January 2025 on a contract originally scheduled to run until 2029.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, Khusanov has made 37 appearances under then-manager Pep Guardiola and helped the club win both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

Belgium international Doku, 24, had already been tied to City until the summer of 2028, having signed from French side Rennes three years ago.

The winger has featured in 131 matches in all competitions for City, scoring 22 goals and providing 34 assists, and has collected four trophies during his time at the club.

Recent squad changes and managerial shift

City have also moved to strengthen their squad this summer with the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a club-record deal worth €135m.

The Premier League champions appointed Italian coach Enzo Maresca as their new manager following the departure of Guardiola at the end of last season.

Upcoming fixtures

Manchester City are preparing to face Arsenal in the Community Shield on 16 August, a week before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

City will begin their league title defence on 23 August when they host Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
