Mohamed Barakat resigns as Eastern Company ENPPI coach but club reject request

Eastern Company ENPPI manager Mohamed Barakat has submitted his resignation, according to the club’s football company chairman Ayman El-Shorbagy.

Barakat’s decision followed ENPPI’s 3-0 defeat by El Mokawloon El Arab in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League. The match was played at Al Salam Stadium.

Speaking to FilGoal.com, El-Shorbagy said the club had rejected Barakat’s request to leave and remained committed to keeping him in charge.

“Mohamed Barakat apologised for not completing his work with the team, but the players insisted before the management that he should remain,” El-Shorbagy said.

“I personally agree with them, which is why we rejected his request. We insist that he continues in order to complete our project.”

Barakat took charge of Eastern Company ENPPI after the conclusion of last season’s league campaign.

The club have won only once in the current Egyptian Premier League season. They have also lost five matches and drawn one.

Eastern Company ENPPI are currently 17th in the table with four points.
