DEL PIERO: THE ITALIAN WILL HANG UP HIS CRAMPONS

Alessandro Del Piero, the Italian football legend and 2006 World Cup champion, hinted at his retirement during a press conference. He suggested that his upcoming match for Sydney FC against Perth Glory could be his last in his illustrious career.

Del Piero’s two-year contract with Sydney FC is set to expire at the end of the season. However, the Australian club has not granted him an extension. The club’s management is reluctant to meet Del Piero’s demand of 1.3 million euros to renew his contract.

Approaching the age of 40, with his birthday coming up in November, Del Piero seems to be contemplating retirement from professional football after this season. If this match indeed marks the end of his playing career, it would be a fitting conclusion for a player who has enjoyed immense success and won numerous titles throughout his career.
