Cyrus Dehmie has completed a move from Sydney Olympic to Cambodian Premier League side Boeung Ket on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs from 15 December 2025 to 15 December 2026.
The 23-year-old centre-forward leaves the National Premier Leagues New South Wales to join one of Cambodia’s leading clubs, confirming a switch that takes him out of Australian football and into the top flight of a growing South-East Asian league. The deal follows the expiry of his terms at Sydney Olympic and has been registered as a free transfer, with no market valuation listed at the time of the move.
Dehmie, who holds both Australian and Ivorian nationality, arrives at Boeung Ket as a specialist centre-forward and will be expected to add depth and mobility in the central attacking role. His move also strengthens the presence of Australia-linked players in the Cambodian Premier League, where he will compete in a fully professional environment and showcase himself to a new audience in a different football culture.
The forward’s transfer continues a career path that has already taken in multiple countries and levels. Born on 25 May 2002 in Guiglo, Côte d’Ivoire, Dehmie came through the Brisbane Roar system, progressing from Brisbane Roar U21 to the A-League side in May 2021. During his time at Roar, his market value peaked at €150,000 in late 2021 and again in mid-2022, reflecting his status as a promising young attacker in Australian professional football.
In January 2023 he left Brisbane Roar for Danish club Næstved Boldklub, making the step into European football. While in Denmark, his valuation was listed at €100,000 in June 2023, before he departed the club in August of that year and briefly became a free agent. Dehmie then returned to Australia with Olympic FC Brisbane in April 2024, a move recorded with a market value of €0 as he rebuilt his career in the National Premier Leagues. He switched to Sydney Olympic in January 2025, staying in the Australian second tier before securing this latest move to Boeung Ket.
The transfer means Dehmie will now continue his senior career outside Australia, having already sampled professional football in both the A-League and Denmark’s league system. For Boeung Ket, the deal adds an internationally experienced forward with a varied development background, while for the player it represents another chance to re-establish himself after a series of short spells and contract gaps.
With his contract now formally beginning and an end date fixed for 15 December 2026, Dehmie has a defined window in which to make an impact in the Cambodian Premier League. A successful spell could revive his market value and open doors either back to higher-profile Asian competitions or a return to Europe, while cementing his reputation as a dual-nationality striker capable of adapting to contrasting styles and standards across three different footballing countries.
