Cote d’Ivoire maintain perfect U15 World Cup record as Cameroon and Senegal battle for second

Cote d’Ivoire remain unbeaten at the U15 World Cup after recording a third consecutive victory, while Cameroon and Senegal are level on six points in Group K.

The Elephanteaux defeated the Turks and Caicos Islands 6-0 in Hovsan, Azerbaijan, on Sunday. Dramane Diarrassouba scored a hat-trick, Cheick Berte added two goals and Jadon Montilus completed the scoring with an own goal.

Cote d’Ivoire had previously thrashed Vanuatu 11-0, with Berte claiming three goals and Diarrassouba and Issa Bamba scoring twice each.

Their campaign began with a 5-0 victory over Rwanda in an all-African encounter. The results leave Gnamin Souh Kouame Matiriel’s side top of Group Y with nine points from nine.

They are ahead of Albania on goal difference, with Albania also having won all of their matches so far. Cote d’Ivoire will complete their group-stage fixtures on Monday against Mauritania and Albania.

Cameroon and Senegal level

Senegal also enjoyed a productive Sunday, beating Bahrain 7-1 after recording the same scoreline against Grenada, winning that match 7-1.

Abdoulaye Diallo scored five times across the two games, registering a brace in one match and a hat-trick in the other. Georges Kanfom contributed two goals.

Cameroon responded to their earlier 2-1 defeat by India with a 6-1 victory over Laos. Harouna Abdoulaye scored three times for the Indomitable Lions.

The day before, Cameroon had beaten Senegal 3-0, with goals from Fareil Ngobo, Andy Massoda and Randy Ngome.

Cameroon and Senegal occupy second and third place respectively in Group K, both on six points. Cameroon are above Senegal because of their head-to-head record.

Cameroon’s remaining matches are against Grenada and Bahrain, while Senegal will face Laos and India.

Mali, Guinea and Benin record wins

Elsewhere on Sunday, Mali secured successive victories against Belarus, winning 2-1, and Mongolia, whom they defeated 4-1.

Guinea overwhelmed American Samoa 17-0 before drawing 2-2 with Honduras. Benin followed a 10-0 victory over the Cook Islands with a 1-1 draw against Hong Kong.

Gabon suffered two heavy defeats, losing 9-1 to Latvia and 5-0 to Scotland.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final phase. The winner of Division A will be crowned world champion.
