Cote d’Ivoire lose Ghislain Konan for Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers

Cote d’Ivoire will be without first-choice left-back Ghislain Konan during the November international break after he suffered an injury with Wolverhampton.

The 30-year-old defender was hurt on Friday, 23 October while playing for his club in the English Championship. He is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks.

Konan’s absence is a significant setback for the Elephants, who will be deprived of one of their key players as they prepare for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 commitments.

The Cote d’Ivoire coaching staff must now identify an alternative on the left side of the defence and find a replacement for a player who has been an established member of the African champions’ team.
