Chelsea set £100m asking price for Pedro Neto amid Premier League interest

Chelsea have raised their asking price for Pedro Neto to £100m as Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur continue to show strong interest in the Portugal winger.

The club is now prepared to sanction Neto’s departure during the summer transfer window, but only if its new valuation is met, according to the Mirror.

Neto, 26, joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton in 2024 in a deal worth £54m and has made 103 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club. Despite his recent importance to the team, Chelsea are increasingly open to selling him before the transfer deadline as they look to generate funds.

The winger has appeared to become Xabi Alonso’s preferred option on the right, either as a conventional winger or in a more advanced wing-back role. However, Chelsea strengthened their attacking options significantly during the summer by signing Morgan Rogers, Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha, giving the club greater scope to consider Neto’s departure.

Chelsea previously valued Neto at about £70m earlier in the summer. That assessment has since risen sharply after the player was linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in a potentially lucrative deal.

Some reports have claimed Al-Hilal have already agreed personal terms with the highly rated winger, although the extent of any formal progress remains unclear. Chelsea believe Neto should command a considerably higher fee, particularly after Yan Diomande moved to Real Madrid for £120m.

The London club are also aware that Paris Saint-Germain have placed a £145m valuation on their young winger Bradley Barcola. Those figures have helped shape Chelsea’s belief that Neto’s market value is significantly above the £70m level previously attached to him.

Manchester City remain strongly interested in signing Neto, with new manager Enzo Maresca keen to reunite with a player he previously worked with. The Italian has publicly called for reinforcements after City suffered a heavy defeat by Arsenal in the Community Shield.

Arsenal are also monitoring the situation closely. Manager Mikel Arteta and the club’s hierarchy have turned their attention to other possibilities after Arsenal failed in their ambitious attempt to sign Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior.

Tottenham Hotspur are understood to have made a formal offer for Neto as well. The club continues to spend heavily under new manager Roberto De Zerbi and is assessing whether an agreement can be reached before the transfer window closes.

Neto’s future therefore remains uncertain, with Chelsea balancing his recent role in Alonso’s plans against the opportunity to receive a substantial transfer fee. The club’s increased valuation could make a deal more difficult, but it also reflects the level of interest from Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs.

If Neto remains in the English capital, he is widely expected to be involved when Chelsea begin their next Premier League campaign against Fulham under Alonso.
