Chelsea have set a €5m fee for a season-long loan of Axel Disasi, with Crystal Palace considering whether to continue negotiations for the defender.

Axel Disasi could leave Chelsea again this summer after attracting interest from Crystal Palace following an impressive second half of last season at West Ham.

The 28-year-old France international defender, who is of Franco-Congolese heritage, remains highly regarded in the Premier League. Crystal Palace are keen to bring him to Selhurst Park, while AS Roma are also continuing to monitor his situation.

According to Foot Mercato, discussions have already taken place between Chelsea and Crystal Palace officials over a possible deal. However, the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement, with Chelsea currently holding firm over their financial demands.

Chelsea are reportedly asking for €5m for a straight loan, with no permanent transfer option included. That figure is considered too high by Crystal Palace, who are not currently prepared to accept the terms proposed by the west London club.

Further talks are expected to take place in the coming days as both sides look for an arrangement that satisfies their respective positions. Palace must decide whether to meet Chelsea’s valuation or attempt to persuade them to reduce their demands.

Disasi returned to Chelsea after producing a strong second half of the season during his time with West Ham. His performances there have increased interest in the defender and raised the possibility of another move away from Stamford Bridge.

He remains under contract at Chelsea until June 2029, meaning the club retain considerable control over his future. Despite that long-term agreement, Disasi may once again begin the campaign away from Chelsea if a deal can be reached with Palace or another interested club.

AS Roma remain attentive to developments and could provide competition for Crystal Palace in the race for the defender. Disasi is currently valued at €15m by Transfermarkt.

His reported annual salary at Chelsea is €4,805,403, equivalent to 3,123,511,950 CFA francs.

Crystal Palace are also due to face Everton in their opening match of the English league season. The betting odds listed for that fixture make Everton favourites at 1.99, with Crystal Palace priced at 3.25 and the draw also rated at 3.25.

The remaining issue in the Disasi negotiations is whether Chelsea will soften their position on the €5m loan fee. Palace are interested, but their reluctance to meet the initial demand means the proposed transfer remains unresolved.
