CAN 2027: Ibrahim Mbaye gives Senegal half-time lead over Ethiopia

Senegal lead Ethiopia 1-0 at half-time in Tuesday’s second-round match of the CAN 2027 qualifiers, after Ibrahim Mbaye struck early for the Lions.

The young Senegal international opened the scoring in the 11th minute, converting a chance created by Nicolas Jackson. Ethiopia responded with several attacking moves but were unable to break through a Senegalese defence that remained vigilant.

Senegal’s Pape Gueye was shown a yellow card in the 19th minute. After four minutes of added time, Senegal went into the interval still holding their 1-0 advantage.
