CAF CUP: BECAUSE OF THE “EBOLA VIRUS”, ETOILE DU SAHEL DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY IN CONAKRY
Etoile du Sahel is scheduled to travel on April 20 to face Horoya in Guinea Conakry as part of the African Football Confederation Cup preliminary round. However, the Tunisian club’s leadership is reluctant to play the match in Conakry due to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in Guinea.
Abdesslam Dhaifallah, editor-in-chief of the sports department of Tunisian radio Mosaique FM, confirmed this information, stating that “Etoile du Sahel wants to contact CAF to request the relocation of its first-leg match scheduled in Conakry because of Ebola fever.”
Some Tunisian media outlets suggest that if CAF rejects the relocation request, precautions may be taken to protect against the fever during the match in Conakry.
On the Horoya side, they claim not to be informed about this request, as CAF has not yet been contacted by the Sousse club.
