Mohamed Ouédraogo Linked With Move to Lyon

Burkina Faso international Mohamed Ouédraogo could be on the verge of securing a move to Lyon, with the French club reportedly leading the race for the left-back’s signature.

The 23-year-old currently plays for Austrian side SCR Altach and has emerged as a target for several European clubs following his performances in recent seasons.

According to reports from FootMercato, Lyon have moved into a strong position in negotiations and are now considered favourites to complete a deal for the Burkinabe defender.

The development would represent a significant step forward in Ouédraogo’s career, potentially offering him the opportunity to play in one of Europe’s major leagues.

Having previously featured for Majestic, the defender has continued his progress since moving to Austria, where he has established himself as a regular presence in SCR Altach’s squad.

His performances have attracted attention beyond Austria, with a number of European clubs reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the transfer window.

Despite that interest, Lyon appear to have gained an advantage over rival suitors.

The Ligue 1 club are understood to be pushing ahead with plans to strengthen their squad and view Ouédraogo as a player capable of adding depth and quality on the left side of defence.

Reports suggest that Lyon have taken a clear lead in discussions, although no agreement has yet been officially confirmed.

Ouédraogo’s growing reputation has also been reflected in his market valuation. According to Transfermarkt, the Burkina Faso international is currently valued at approximately €1.2 million.

The defender’s rise has been closely followed in Burkina Faso, where he is regarded as one of the country’s promising talents abroad.

A move to Lyon would provide him with an opportunity to test himself at a higher level and continue his development in a more competitive environment.

For now, attention remains on whether Lyon can complete the transfer and turn their reported interest into a formal agreement.

With several clubs said to be following the player, the French side appear best placed to secure his signature as the transfer window gathers momentum.
