Burkina Faso consider U23 players for Argentina friendly amid travel problems

Burkina Faso are seeking a way to fulfil their scheduled friendly against Argentina in Buenos Aires on 4 October, despite difficulties preventing members of their delegation from reaching the Argentine capital. The match has not officially been cancelled at this stage.

One option under consideration is to draw on players from the Burkina Faso U23 squad, who are currently gathered in Ouagadougou. They could join the available senior players to ensure the Etalons are able to field a team against Argentina, although the proposal has not yet been formally confirmed.

The Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF) is also understood to be working to honour the contractual commitments linked to the fixture, including its financial arrangements. Finding a solution would allow the Etalons to preserve their participation in the international match.

No official decision has yet been announced on whether U23 players will be added to the squad. The FBF is expected to clarify its arrangements in the coming hours.
