Boucounta Sarr switches to Akhaa Al-Ahly as Senegal forward begins new chapter

Senegal centre-forward Boucounta Sarr has joined Akhaa Al-Ahly from Al-Hedod SC on a free transfer, completing his move to the Lebanese Premier League club on 4 September 2026.

The 25-year-old attacker leaves Iraq after one season with Al-Hedod, having arrived at the club from Bahrain’s East Riffa in September 2025, also on a free transfer. His move to Akhaa Al-Ahly represents another change of league for a player whose career has included spells across the Middle East.

Sarr’s experience includes a productive record in the Lebanese Premier League, where he has made 32 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists. He has also featured in the AFC Cup, making three appearances and scoring once.

The Senegalese forward began his time in Lebanon with East Riffa after joining the Bahraini club as a free agent in January 2025. Before that move, he had been without a club after leaving Sagesse SC, where he had spent part of the 2021-22 campaign.

Sarr’s earlier career also included a temporary move between Sagesse and Nejmeh SC during the 2021-22 season. He joined Nejmeh on loan from Sagesse in May 2022 before returning to his parent club at the end of that loan spell.

At Akhaa Al-Ahly, Sarr joins a club competing in Lebanon’s top flight and brings experience of both domestic league football and continental competition. His record of 12 goals in 32 Lebanese Premier League appearances provides the clearest indication of his contribution in front of goal, while his role as a centre-forward gives him a defined position in the squad.

The transfer continues a sequence of moves completed without a fee for Sarr. His switches to East Riffa, Al-Hedod and now Akhaa Al-Ahly have all been recorded as free transfers.

Sarr is now an Akhaa Al-Ahly player after completing his free transfer from Al-Hedod SC on 4 September 2026.
