Bilal Nadir completes free transfer to Hamburg after Marseille exit

Bilal Nadir has signed a three-year deal with Hamburg, with the former Olympique de Marseille midfielder joining the Bundesliga club on a free transfer after his contract in France expired at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old, who is of French and Moroccan nationality, was out of contract following his departure from OM and has now committed to Hamburg until 2029.

Nadir moves to Germany with the expectation that he will add technical quality in midfield while simultaneously stepping up his own level in order to secure significant playing time in the Bundesliga.

Hamburg confirmed the move on their official channels, stressing both the length of the agreement and the fact that he arrives without a transfer fee. The club said: “Le milieu de terrain maroco-francais nous rejoint libre en provenance de l’Olympique de Marseille et signe un contrat a long terme”.

The transfer had been widely anticipated once an agreement in principle was reported, and the deal has now been formally completed, bringing an end to Nadir’s spell at Olympique de Marseille and marking the start of his first professional experience in German football.
