Aliou Dieng is not expected to leave Valencia CF during the January transfer window, despite reports that the Mali international could be made available for transfer.
Spanish newspaper AS reported that the club had considered putting the midfielder on the transfer list in January as part of efforts to reduce its wage bill and create funds for new signings. However, Dieng’s agent, Khaled Maghraby, has firmly rejected those claims.
Speaking to Maghreb-Foot, the Egyptian representative dismissed suggestions that his client was preparing to leave Valencia CF. He said Dieng wanted to continue his time with the Spanish club and remain involved in its plans.
Maghraby also expressed surprise at reports that Valencia CF were unhappy with the former Al Ahly player’s performances. The midfielder has had limited playing time since arriving in Spain, but his representative remains adamant that there is no agreement or intention for him to depart.
Dieng has made six appearances for Valencia CF since joining the club from Egypt and has played 232 minutes so far. He started the team’s two most recent matches, with a number of injuries in the squad creating an opportunity for him to take a place in the starting XI.
The Mali international is under contract with Valencia CF until 30 June 2028. His current market value is estimated at 3 million euros.
Valencia CF’s next fixture will be their ninth match in the Spanish league, against Athletic Bilbao. The listed odds for the game are 3.20 for a Valencia CF win, 3.20 for a draw and 2.00 for an Athletic Bilbao victory.
