The Disciplinary Committee of the Algerian Professional Football League has taken firm action against Union of Algeria, ordering the club to play one match behind closed doors and imposing a $1,500 fine.
The decision follows incidents where fans threw objects onto the pitch.
In addition to the club sanction, the committee handed a four-match suspension and a $300 fine to Chabab Saoura’s Zakaria after he was sent off for insulting a referee during his team’s 1-0 defeat to ES Sétif in the 19th round of the league.
Shuaib Kaddad of CR Belouizdad and Jamal Balalam of Mouloudia Al-Bayda each received three-match bans—one of which is suspended—along with fines of $250 for their red-card offenses in a goalless draw.
Meanwhile, Khenchela’s Abdelhak Haqas faces a two-match suspension and a $150 fine after being dismissed in his side’s 3-2 victory over Olympic Chlef.
Financial penalties ranging from $250 to $2,000 were also issued to multiple clubs for misconduct, unruly fan behavior, and match-related infractions.
