Al-Ahly’s management has made a decisive move to halt the potential departures of two key players, Ahmed Nabil Kouka and Karim El-Dabbas, by closing the door on their professional transfers. The decision comes as the club focuses on its upcoming commitments, most notably the 2025 Club World Cup, which will feature 32 teams.
Mohamed Ramadan, Al-Ahly’s sports director, took action after the club received several offers for the duo, including a Portuguese bid for Kouka and a Belgian offer for El-Dabbas.
Both players have become important figures under Swiss head coach Marcel Koller.
Kouka has earned a regular spot in midfield, while El-Dabbas has begun to see more involvement, especially as a potential substitute on the left flank.
Ramadan’s decision comes in light of the club’s demanding schedule, with Al-Ahly aiming for success in both domestic and international competitions.
The duo’s contributions will be essential to the club’s ambitions in the coming months.
