Amine Harit addresses Marseille salary talks and future

Amine Harit has returned to Olympique Marseille determined to make the most of his opportunity after spending last season on loan at İstanbul Basaksehir.

The Moroccan midfielder regained his enjoyment of regular football in Turkey and is now back in Marseille competing for a starting place ahead of the Ligue 1 clash with Rennes.

Harit insists his return is not motivated by revenge or frustration. “There is no revenge. Last season, my loan was beneficial because I rediscovered the pleasure of playing every weekend. I am very happy to be here, and I want to have a great season both collectively and individually. We can achieve something good,” he said.

The 29-year-old was also asked whether he had accepted a pay cut amid Marseille’s financial concerns. Harit confirmed that discussions had taken place but declined to reveal the outcome. “There were discussions with the club. Out of respect for the club, it is not something I will discuss here. I have nothing to say about that,” he explained.

Harit has one year remaining on his contract, but he is not allowing future negotiations to distract him. “I am very happy to be at OM. We will see what happens during the season. Results are much more important than contract lengths or salaries,” he added.
