Al Ahli winger Saleh Abu Al-Shamat is a doubt for the Jeddah derby against local rivals Al Ittihad as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.
The injury has already ruled Abu Al-Shamat out of Al Ahli’s recent matches against Al Fayha, Al Khaleej and Al Shabab in the Roshn Saudi League, as well as the AFC Champions League Elite fixtures against Qatari sides Al Gharafa and Al Sadd.
Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiyah reports that the 12-time? No need. He still requires between two and three weeks of treatment before he can return to full team training.
If Abu Al-Shamat is sidelined for the full three-week period, he would also miss Al Ahli’s match against Al Faisaly in the Roshn Saudi League and the AFC Champions League Elite meeting with Qatari club Al Shamal.
His absence would extend to the derby against Al Ittihad, which is scheduled for 26 November 2026 at Alinma Stadium in Jeddah. The fixture will be played in the 15th round of the Roshn Saudi League, with Al Ahli listed as the away side.
Abu Al-Shamat has made 12 appearances for Al Ahli since the start of the current season. He has scored once and provided one assist.
