Real Madrid could reap millions from rising Como defender Jacobo Ramon

Real Madrid could make a significant financial return from Jacobo Ramon, with the Como centre-back attracting growing interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of next summer’s transfer window.

Manchester United are understood to be the leading candidates to sign the 21-year-old, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also monitoring his progress closely, according to Foot Mercato, citing AS.

Real Madrid retained a strong position in the deal that took Ramon to Como. The Italian club paid 2.5m euros for the defender, but Real Madrid kept 50% of his rights and also secured a buy-back clause worth 10m euros.

Ramon’s current market value is estimated at about 45m euros by Transfermarkt. That leaves Real Madrid with the option of bringing him back for considerably less than his present valuation, or benefiting from a future transfer fee if Como sell him.

AS reports that Ramon will not leave Como during the forthcoming winter transfer window, despite the increasing attention from clubs in England. Real Madrid are not looking to make an early decision, but he is regarded as the leading candidate to replace Antonio Rudiger if the Germany international departs.

The defender’s reputation has risen further since he received his first call-up to the senior Spain squad. His performances in Italy have impressed observers and have also been noted by officials at his former club.

Ramon has stood out for his ability to play the ball out from defence and contribute to the build-up. He is also regarded as mature in his decision-making, while his reading of opponents’ movements allows him to anticipate danger effectively.

At 1.96m, he is a strong presence in the air and continues to improve his goalscoring. That development has added another attacking dimension to his game.

During the current season, Ramon has scored three goals and provided two assists for Como. He also scored twice for Spain Under-21s during the most recent international break.

His role model is former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. The young defender’s progress suggests he is beginning to follow a path that could bring him closer to the career of his idol.

For Real Madrid, Ramon’s rapid development has created both a sporting opportunity and the potential for a substantial financial gain. Whether the club exercise the buy-back option or benefit from a percentage of a future sale, the deal is already positioned to become a highly profitable one.
