Algeria midfielder Adam Zorgane dreaming of bigger stage after brilliant season
Adam Zorgane says he remains fully focused on helping Royale Union Saint-Gilloise finish the season strongly before making any decision about the next stage of his career.
The Algerian midfielder has enjoyed an impressive campaign in Belgium and has become one of the key figures in his side since joining the club last summer.
At 26, Zorgane is playing one of the most important seasons of his career, with Union Saint-Gilloise currently sitting second in the Belgian Pro League standings while also preparing for a domestic cup final.
His performances have not gone unnoticed.
After establishing himself as one of the standout midfielders in Belgium, the Algeria international is now attracting attention beyond the country, including reported interest from clubs in the English Premier League.
Although Zorgane remains under contract with Union Saint-Gilloise until 2029, he has admitted that he is thinking about the future and the possibility of taking another step in his career.
Speaking to the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, the midfielder explained that his immediate priority remains collective success with his current club before any personal decisions are made.
“It’s true that I always want to improve and that I have certain individual goals. Let’s get two trophies here first, and then we’ll see. My best years are coming now,” he confided.
The comments underline the confidence Zorgane has developed during a season that could still deliver major achievements for both club and country.
Union Saint-Gilloise remain in contention for the league title and are also preparing for an important cup final, leaving the midfielder with the possibility of ending the campaign with two domestic trophies.
For Zorgane, that success would represent another major step in a period that he already considers one of the strongest of his professional career.
The Algerian international believes the current campaign “could be the best of his life”.
He pointed to the different milestones already achieved this season, including competing with Algeria national football team at the Africa Cup of Nations and the possibility of being involved in the 2026 World Cup under coach Vladimir Petkovic.
“I hope we can complete the double, because then, in one year, I will have won the title, won the Cup, played in the Champions League, competed in the AFCON and a World Cup. You can’t do better!” he said.
The midfielder’s remarks reflect both his ambition and his belief that the coming years could be the peak period of his career.
Since arriving in Belgium in 2021, Zorgane has steadily built his reputation through consistent performances and has developed into an influential figure in midfield.
His move to Union Saint-Gilloise last summer has further increased his visibility, particularly during a season in which the club has remained competitive on multiple fronts.
The growing attention from clubs in other European leagues highlights the progress he has made.
Interest from England, especially from Premier League sides, is likely to increase if he continues his strong performances until the end of the campaign.
Despite the transfer speculation, Zorgane’s focus appears firmly fixed on finishing the season successfully with Union Saint-Gilloise.
The midfielder has repeatedly emphasised the importance of winning trophies before considering any future move.
For now, his attention remains on the league race and the cup final, two objectives that could define what he already describes as a potentially unforgettable season.
With major honours still within reach and international opportunities ahead, Zorgane believes the next phase of his career could become even bigger.
Whether that future remains in Belgium or leads him elsewhere in Europe may become clearer once the season comes to an end.
