ABOUBACRY BA: THE AFRICAN FOOTBALL MAN HARDLY WATCHES TV!
Aboubacry Ba, a rising African star, is making a name for himself as a sports journalist. Originally from Senegal, Ba gained recognition in his role as a sports journalist at RTS before joining Canal+ in September 2012. He co-presents the show “Talents d’Afrique” with Philippe Doucet. Ba describes his journey with emotion, expressing how working with Canal+ was a dream come true for him.
Reflecting on his career, he shares, “My dream was to first be a sports journalist. My passion was sport and I definitely wanted to do it. So wherever I could do it, it was good. Only, today I have the chance to do it in the place where it is done best. It’s Canal+ and I’m delighted.”
As a father of two children, Ba admits that he’s not a TV addict. Despite his work as a sports journalist, he prefers to engage in activities beyond television. He mentions, “I don’t really like watching TV. When I’m not reporting, I like to go out or read. I like reading. In all, my life is not just about sport. Fortunately anyway. I would have felt like I was working all the time. This is why I don’t like watching matches on TV. When I finish a match and go home, I prefer to do something other than watch TV. Not football anyway.”
Aboubacry Ba is recognized as a brilliant presenter to watch in the world of sports journalism.
