Anis Fatahine recalled by Algeria Under-23s as Paris FC loanee targets Ligue 1 return

Anis Fatahine has been included in Algeria’s Under-23 squad for the two-match qualifying tie against Eswatini for the next Africa Cup of Nations Under-23 tournament.

The left-back, currently playing for Le Puy-en-Velay, missed the previous international camp at the last minute for personal reasons. Those circumstances have now been resolved, allowing him to return to Rafik Saifi’s squad.

The call-up represents further recognition for Fatahine, who is regarded as an important member of the Algeria Under-23 side. It also comes as the defender gradually rebuilds his fitness and consistency at club level.

Fatahine joined Le Puy-en-Velay on loan from Paris FC and remains under contract with the Parisian club. He is expected to return to Paris when his loan spell ends, with the ambition of competing in Ligue 1 next season.

The Algeria international hopes to use the experience gained during his time away to take another step in his development and revive his progress. In an interview with Maghreb-Foot, he expressed satisfaction with his current situation at club level.

Paris FC are due to face Angers in the 11th round of the French championship.
