Manchester City suffer third successive Premier League defeat as Nottingham Forest win 3-1

Manchester City’s difficult run continued as they were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, suffering a third consecutive defeat in the Premier League.

The result came in the 10th round of matches and followed losses against Aston Villa and Brighton. Enzo Maresca’s side were unable to halt their slide at the City Ground, where Nottingham Forest made a fast start.

Jair Cunha put the hosts ahead after six minutes, before former Manchester City player Liam Delap doubled Forest’s advantage 12 minutes later.

Manchester City improved after the interval and reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute through Rayan Cherki. However, their hopes of completing a comeback ended when Delap scored again in the 73rd minute to secure his second goal of the match and Forest’s third.

The victory lifted Nottingham Forest to nine points and 16th place in the table. Manchester City remain second on 21 points, six behind leaders Arsenal.

The fixture listings also show Manchester City scheduled to face Fulham on 21 November 2026, while Bournemouth are listed to play Nottingham Forest on the same date.
