Egypt partners Right to Dream to establish five football talent development centres

Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has partnered with Right to Dream to establish five regional football development centres as part of a national initiative to identify and nurture young talent across the country.

The agreement was formalised on Tuesday through a cooperation protocol signed by Youth and Sports Minister Gohar Nabil and Right to Dream International Academy chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour.

Under the initiative, five regional centres will be established and operated across Egypt, providing young footballers with access to professional training, education and other development opportunities.

According to a statement from the Egyptian cabinet, each centre will feature football pitches, fitness facilities, classrooms, medical facilities and accommodation. Operations will begin in phases.

The project will also provide players with accredited education in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, allowing them to combine academic studies with football training in a structured, full-day programme.

A nationwide talent identification programme will run alongside the centres, using unified standards for assessing, selecting and documenting promising players.

Right to Dream will oversee the technical and sporting aspects of the initiative, including scouting, talent identification, player selection, training, assessment and professional career management.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, meanwhile, will provide and equip the facilities, handle administrative and logistical operations, and ensure the availability of accredited education.

A joint coordination committee will be established to monitor the implementation process, with both parties expected to work towards concluding a final agreement in the coming months.

Speaking after the signing, Nabil said the ministry was committed to expanding talent identification across Egypt’s governorates and creating opportunities for young people to develop their abilities and reach international sporting and professional levels.

He also pledged the ministry’s support in providing the infrastructure and resources required to ensure the project’s success.

Mansour said the partnership would help develop a new generation of athletes in line with international standards while creating pathways for professional careers and regional and international competition.

Right to Dream is internationally recognised for its football talent development model, which combines elite sporting training with academic education and personal development, while providing pathways into professional football.
