Chelsea linked with Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins
German-Nigerian defender Nnamdi Collins is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Premier League side Chelsea.
Collins, 22, has a contract with Frankfurt until 30 June 2030 and is valued at €20m. No transfer fee has been reported for a potential move to England.
The centre-back has made four Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt this season, starting two of them and playing 39% of the available league minutes. He has also featured once in the DFB-Pokal, with one yellow card in each competition.
Collins joined Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund II on 9 August 2023 in a deal reported at €1m. He had developed through Dortmund’s youth system after joining from Dusseldorf as a youngster, and won the German Under-19 Bundesliga title with Dortmund in the 2021-22 season.
The right-footed defender was born in Dusseldorf and holds German and Nigerian nationality. Frankfurt remain his current club, while Chelsea are the club named in the rumour as a possible destination. His existing long-term contract means any move would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer.
