Nnamdi Collins: Manchester United linked with Eintracht Frankfurt defender

Nnamdi Collins, the German-Nigerian defender at Eintracht Frankfurt, is being linked with a move to Manchester United.

The 22-year-old centre-back has a market value of €20m and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2030. No transfer fee has been reported, and the rumour has not been confirmed by either club.

Collins has made four Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt this season, starting 38% of the club’s possible league matches and playing 39% of the available minutes. He has also appeared once in the DFB-Pokal.

The right-footed defender joined Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund II on 9 August 2023 in a deal worth €1m. He developed through Dortmund’s youth system and helped their under-19 side win the German Under-19 Bundesliga title in 2021-22.

Collins was born in Dusseldorf and is listed with German and Nigerian nationality. His current campaign has brought one yellow card in both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, with no goals or assists recorded.

The reported interest would represent a move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, but there is no indication yet that negotiations have taken place or that Frankfurt are considering an offer. Collins remains contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt for a further four seasons beyond the current campaign.
