Como recorded the biggest away win in the modern Champions League format as they thrashed Lens 9-1 in the fourth round of the league phase.
Anastasios Douvikas scored a hat-trick for the Italian side, finding the net in the seventh, 32nd and 57th minutes. Nico Paz added another in the 40th minute before Lucas Da Cunha made it 5-0 two minutes after half-time.
Mark Oliver Kempf scored Como’s sixth in the 53rd minute, with Matija Liberali adding a seventh in the 62nd. Matteo Papaccioli completed the rout with the final goal in the first minute of added time.
Lens scored a consolation through Ruben Aguilar in the 65th minute. Saudi Arabia winger Saud Abdulhamid came on as a second-half substitute for the French club.
After scoring for Como, Paz celebrated in a shirt bearing an image of Jesus de Miguel, the Tenerife forward who died during his side’s Spanish second-division match.
The result was the biggest away victory by any side in the new Champions League format. It was also the largest away win in European competition since Feyenoord beat Olympiakos Nicosia 9-0 in September 1971.
Como moved up to fourth place with nine points, level with Barcelona, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, Club Brugge, Sporting Lisbon, Real Betis and Dortmund. The teams from fourth to 12th are separated only by goal difference.
Como’s 19 goals give them the competition’s second-best attack, one behind Paris Saint-Germain. Lens are 33rd in the standings on three points.

Porto defeated Napoli 4-1 in the other match, although the score remained 1-1 until the 70th minute before the Portuguese side struck three times in the final 20 minutes.

Gabriel Veiga restored Porto’s lead in the 71st minute, Jakub Kiwior added a third in the 80th, and Samu Omorodion completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
