Zamalek step up Egypt Cup preparations as Mo’tamed Gamal demands focus

Mo’tamed Gamal held a meeting with Zamalek’s players before Wednesday’s training session as the club continued preparations for their Egypt Cup round-of-32 tie against Misr Insurance.

The session took place at the auxiliary pitch at Air Defence Stadium, with Zamalek due to face Misr Insurance at 20:00 on Friday at Cairo International Stadium.

Gamal told his players they must remain fully focused and give maximum effort to secure victory in the cup fixture. He also warned them against underestimating their opponents in order to avoid an upset.

At the end of the meeting, the manager outlined the technical aspects of the session and explained the work the squad would undertake as preparations for Friday’s match continued.

Mohamed El Sayed followed an individual rehabilitation programme on the sidelines. The player completed running exercises around the pitch as part of the recovery plan set by the medical team, led by Mohamed Osama.

Zamalek’s medical staff are working to prepare El Sayed to return to full team training as soon as possible.

Hossam Ashraf and Ahmed Abdel Rahim “Isho” also underwent treatment under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

Ashraf is suffering from pain in the lower abdominal muscles, while Ahmed Abdel Rahim “Isho” has a strain in his adductor muscle.

Zamalek will meet Misr Insurance at 20:00 on Friday at Cairo International Stadium in the last-32 stage of the Egypt Cup.
