Paris Saint-Germain produced a ruthless attacking display to beat Villarreal 6-0, scoring four times in a devastating 17-minute spell before adding two more goals after the interval.
Joao Neves opened the scoring in the ninth minute, reacting quickest after a corner had ricocheted back to him inside the penalty area.
Villarreal goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi then gifted Paris Saint-Germain a second goal three minutes later. Maghnes Akliouche collected the loose ball and set up Desire Doue, who finished into the net.
Senny Mayulu made it 3-0 in the 13th minute when he followed up after Villarreal’s defence had blocked Neves’ initial attempt.
Fabian Ruiz completed the first-half rout four minutes later. The midfielder pounced on another rebound inside the area after Achraf Hakimi’s effort, giving Villarreal a four-goal deficit before the half-hour mark.
The Spanish side struggled to create a response. Their clearest opportunity before the break came in stoppage time, when Ayoze Perez’s shot was saved by Matvey Safonov. It was Villarreal’s first effort on target.
Villarreal introduced Sergi Cardona for Nicolas Pepe at the start of the second half, but Paris Saint-Germain continued to control the contest and threaten their opponents’ goal.
Ruiz scored his second goal of the night and Paris Saint-Germain’s fifth in the 50th minute. Vitinha’s pass released him, and after going past Renato Veiga, he sent the ball through Gulacsi’s legs.
Luis Enrique made a series of changes as the game progressed, bringing on Mika Godts and Ferran Torres in the 60th minute. Lucas Beraldo, Quentin Ndjantou and David Boly followed in the 74th minute.
Boly needed only four minutes to make an impact. After receiving a pass from Neves, he drove into the penalty area and shot from a tight angle in the 78th minute. The ball struck Veiga before settling in the net, giving Boly his first goal in the Champions League.
The match also featured a number of bookings. Santi Comesana, Santiago Mourino, Sergi Cardona, Alberto Moleiro and Quentin Ndjantou were all shown yellow cards.
Villarreal made one final substitution in the 79th minute, with Pau Navarro replacing Alex Freeman, but there was no late change to the scoreline as Paris Saint-Germain completed a comprehensive victory.
Paris Saint-Germain are listed to face Troyes in Ligue 1 on 07 November 2026, while Villarreal are scheduled to play Getafe in La Liga on 08 November 2026.
