Mohamed Salah has rejected a reported €25 million-a-year offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab and told his agent, Rami Abbas, not to bring him any further transfer proposals, according to reports cited by Africafoot.
The Egypt international, who plays for Trabzonspor, has decided to remain with the Turkish club despite the significant financial package offered to persuade him to move to Saudi Arabia.
Al-Shabab’s proposal included a guaranteed annual salary of €25 million, as the club attempted to make Salah the latest high-profile international player to join the Saudi league.
However, the scale of the offer did not change the forward’s position. Salah is understood to have rejected the possibility of leaving Trabzonspor and has chosen to continue with his current club rather than consider a new challenge in the near future.
Reports in Turkey, cited by Africafoot, say Salah has also made his intentions clear regarding his longer-term future. He has reportedly asked Abbas to stop informing him about new transfer offers, signalling his desire to stay in the Turkish league and concentrate on his career with Trabzonspor.
Salah’s decision comes after an impressive start to the season. He has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions, giving him 15 direct goal contributions.
Those performances have contributed to interest from several clubs seeking to sign him, but Salah’s reported decision means he intends to continue at Trabzonspor for now.
The Egypt forward is under contract with Trabzonspor until 30 June 2028. His estimated market value is €17 million.
Trabzonspor’s next fixture will be against German side Freiburg in the third round of the league phase of the UEFA Conference League.
