Julian Quinones capitalises on Al Riyadh defensive mishap for Al Qadsiah

Al Qadsiah were gifted a second goal by a costly Al Riyadh mistake in their Roshn Saudi League meeting during the competition’s 12th round.

Al Qadsiah were already 1-0 ahead when the decisive error occurred in the 36th minute. An Al Riyadh defender attempted to pass the ball back to goalkeeper Milan Borjan, but the return was both underhit and difficult to control.

Julian Quinones read the situation immediately. The Colombian forward moved in before Borjan could reach the ball, winning possession inside the penalty area and turning a defensive lapse into a clear scoring opportunity.

Rather than shoot himself, Quinones looked up and picked out Abdullah Al-Salem, who was in a better position in front of an unguarded goal. He delivered the ball to his team-mate, leaving Al-Salem with the simplest of finishes.

Al-Salem made no mistake, calmly placing the ball into the net to double Al Qadsiah’s advantage. He then marked the goal with his trademark “calm” celebration.

The forward has been enjoying a particularly productive spell and had scored twice in his previous match before adding another goal against Al Riyadh.
